About Me.
Hello, my name is Claire Lodge and although originally from London I spent 8 years in Nottingham where I qualified with an Advanced Diploma in Counselling in 2001.
I began my work as a counsellor for an organisation helping people who were suffering financial hardship and moved on from there to work at South Nottingham College as a counsellor working with both the tutors and the students.
Upon moving to the South West I started working in GP Practices across Cornwall and Devon and I also began to see clients privately.
I continue to work in GP practice in Devon and have my private practice in Lipson, Plymouth offering emotional and psychological support to clients referred to me by their GP or EAP provider or by word of mouth.
I am able to assist clients to clarify and accomplish personal and professional goals and work with them on issues such as stress, abuse, anger, assault, confidence, self esteem, anxiety, bereavement, panic, sexuality and relationship issues.
I have undergone further training in the areas of:
- Systemic Family Therapy (Plymouth University)
- Critical Incident Stress De-Briefing (Centre for Stress Management)
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (Centre for Stress Management)
- Neuro-Linguistic Programming (INLPTA)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. (Derby University)
- Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Supervision (CPC)
- Transactional Analysis (ITAA)
I attend monthly counselling supervision to monitor my work and I am a professional member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by their codes of ethics and practice and am subject to their disciplinary procedure.
I have always enjoyed an active leisure time and regularly sail, kayak, cycle and walk maybe we've already met?
